The Opus Stewart Weir High Arctic survey project is officially award-winning! The Association of Canada Land Surveyors and Professional Surveyors Canada recently presented OSW with the David Thompson National Geomatics Award for 2016.

This award, received on behalf of OSW by Paul Dixon, A.L.S., C.L.S., recognizes a project that applies cadastral surveying methods and technology to solve the most challenging technical problems such as surveying with logistical challenges or applying cadastral surveying solutions in uncommon circumstances.

Dagen Deslauriers, A.L.S., C.L.S., OSW Senior Manager – Professional Services, explains the significance of this award. “This was a very complex project in terms of coordinating people, equipment and supplies to one of the most remote corners of our planet, then completing one of the highest profile Canadian cadastral surveying projects of our generation. This professional recognition demonstrates to everyone on our team, our clients and our competition that we are truly experts in our field and we can rise to the challenge of the task at hand. We should all take pride in this accomplishment!”
