Redevelopment involved 2 new court rooms & a glass entry foyer to give a sense of transparency
The building is located in the central business area of the city.
A full height GRC wall separates the old and new parts of the courthouse and provides the material transition between the two. Timber is used for the soffit of the main roof as well as for feature columns.
Glass and aluminium windows provide the modern and transparent look. Zinc is used for cladding for its longevity and to give the building an urban feel.
A glass canopy fronting the building provides shelter but also continues the canopy line from the neighbouring building, in line with urban design objectives for the street.
